2 Corinthians 9:7
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
- Simple acts of thoughtfulness – bring someone a cup of coffee/hot chocolate
- Time with special people
This weekend I was with my kids and their families. I was reminded again how blessed I am to have people to love and to be loved by. And I realized! The girls now out number the boys. Our youngest son is getting married next month, so now there are 5.
I am the mother of 2 boys and now I have 4 girls to love on. I know that I have to be intentional about loving on my daughter in laws. I tell you that my boys are married/marrying strong, confident women, which for me can be challenge and a blessing all in one. I love that they are strong and will raise my grand daughters to be confident in their walk through life and letting the Lord lead them. Not afraid to take a stand and speak with with confidence, expecting respect yet can be loving and compassionate. They parent with intention! Takes a strong woman to be in the Gould household and I’m proud to have them in mine.
I was also able to spend a little time with a couple of very dear long time friends. Sharing a little life with each other, a few tears and a lot of laughter. Friendship is a blessing that only when it is filled with the love of God can last through disagreements, hard aches, honesty, tears and more love than is imaginable.
Staying in touch with friends that live miles away takes intention. You know it’s a true friend when life doesn’t get in the way .
Monday, I decided that I was going to share a bit of warmth with a couple of friends who have had a hard few life issues so I brought them coffee/hot chocolate to start their morning off right. Praying that it brought them some moments of warmth knowing that they were on my mind. It’s not much but it came from the love I have for them.
Lord thank You for giving me people in my life to love. I am truly blessed! I pray Lord that I will look daily for ways to be intentional in my relationships. That I will love as You have loved me. Amen!
