Teach and Train

Titus 2:2-5

Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.   Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.  Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children,  to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

Paul was directing Titus on what he was to do with a newly converted church people. This is what to instruct the men to be and then the women.  Those instruction are a guide to how I should be.  And I have to admit, “some days it’s difficult!”.  Some days I simply feel like being naughty.  It takes effort and intentionality!  Well, at least it does for me!  But in my heart, my heart that sees the instructions and desires to be with Jesus one day, I pray to God for His grace on me and I pray that He will continue molding me to be His servant. And as long as I’m seeking, as I’m continuing to allow the Holy Spirit to guide me, I can know that He is working.   I know that I have been instructed to help urge the younger women to be the best they were made to be for Him.  I know that is a calling that I can not ignore!  So I urge you also to step out there and be that person that Titus is instructing.

Yes, it takes effort and intentionality!

Seek out His instructions, allow the Holy Spirit in you be your guide and be overflowing with the love that the Lord has given to you.

Lord, thank You for having mercy and grace on me.  Thank You for given me the perfect instructions.  Help me to be moldable and eager to serve.  Help me to be bold!  Lord be with the younger generations, for this world is eaten up with sin.  Guide us all and give us strength to overcome! Amen!
