Welcome to the Wounds to Wisdom prison ministry. We originated with a small group of local Christian authors who desired to reach out to our Women’s Correctional Facility in Kentucky.
The first trip on July 22, 2023 to the prison was to have a Writer’s Workshop with them to help them know how to get started writing their stories. It was a wonderful time. The next trip expanded on that some by adding a testimony and teaching to the time there. We moved from there to taking a worship leader in and have singing along with the addition of a full testimony given. The next trip we did a workshop with them on writing your testimony and I, Rhonda, gave my testimony that day.
Two years later, now in July 2025, we are still going to the prison and doing ministry. We’ve had a couple back away but we’ve had many join and are excited to be serving in this way. God is working through the in person ministry and I look forward to seeing what He is doing there.
Sherry Gun and Rhonda Gould are currently the hosts and creators of this podcast. We have an advisory board of 5 Christian women who have served in their churches, in Celebrate Recovery, Jail ministry and in their communities for decades. We are blessed to have such a loving and dedicated board.
On the 3rd trip to the prison, it was made known to us that they needed more conversation around Sexual abuse and human trafficking. They yearned to find out how to overcome something that had effected their whole life in one way or another. And now the story continues.
We are in the process of creating a Podcast that will be streamed into the prison system. This podcast will feature women and eventually men who have suffered and survived by way of Jesus, the trauma of sexual abuse and trafficking. They will share their journeys and we will have discussion around their experiences.

We are speaking on a topic that no one really wants to talk about. Sexual abuse and trafficking is an epidemic in this world that effects families and individuals across all boundaries of social economics. It doesn’t happen to just those people.
There will be more to this story. We do have a couple of requests. If you could please pray for this ministry both for in person and for the podcast.
Specific prayer needs for the pod cast is that through the efforts of our team and the ladies willing to be vulnerable for the sake of God’s children, please pray God behind Bars and the Pando App will approve our application after one year of podcasting to the general public. Also if you know anyone who is in the entertainment industry or mission network who we could talk with and they would possibly be willing to sponsor our ministry to furthering God’s kingdom, please share our information with them and have them contact us.
This endeavor has proved to be a huge task that we are asking for wisdom and knowledge and endurance to help those hurting to find healing from sexual abuse and trafficking.
