Blessings in Unexpected Places

I’m part of a local author’s group in my community and together we are encouraging each other in our writing.

After getting together several times, a few of us decided that we wanted to serve our community with what God has given us.

So we started planning to workshop for the community at the library. During the planning of that workshop we also discussed where else we might be able to serve. That’s when the idea of going to the state women’s correctional facility and doing a workshop with the ladies there.

After some training and some background checks, we were off. Today God did a mighty thing! We went to serve these women and share with them the love of writing. Creating works that are both healing and inspirational.

We had a great time! We left there with our hearts filled with joy for how Jesus showed up in the middle. Satan did not win out in this situation. He tried hard to stop the testimony that was going to be given today. Putting words in the head of the friend that was giving her. But after much prayer she forged through knowing that God was with her.

We left there with words from the ladies who attended that brought more blessings to us then we could have ever given to them.

It is true what they say that if you serve the blessings will come back to you big time.

I would encourage you to listen to the Holy spirit and see where he is leading you so that you can be a guiding light to someone else.

So much love and joy was in that room today. Don’t miss the opportunity.

We also were able to enjoy a lunch and a long car ride together. Building relationships is what Jesus is all about.
