We have to be able to laugh at ourself every once in awhile.
We were teaching our youngest granddaughter how to ride her bike without training wheels. So I thought, I’m going to take a ride.
Let me just say, It didn’t go well!
You know they say, Once you learn how to ride a bike, you can always ride a bike.
I disproved this theory this weekend.
I thought why is it so hard for me now. I used to ride all around my neighborhood when I was young. I kept thinking…..
So I listed the reasons:
- I haven’t ridden in a long time.
- I stopped practicing.
- I forgot what my teacher told me about how to ride.
God drew me to thinking about my walk with Him
- If I don’t ask him to ride my life with me.
- If I stop practicing.
- If I forget what God’s words teaches me.
I will fail at my walk with Him like I failed at riding the bike.
That disproves the theory of once a Christian always a Christian.
So I’m going to remind you, like He reminded me….
- I need to ask Him to join me in my walk.
- I need to do what He calls me to do. Practice the Spiritual Disciples.
- I need to always be a learner of His word.
Who/what is steering your walk?
By the way, my youngest granddaughter learned how to ride.
I pray that will continue to practice riding and walking with Jesus.
