Once you learn to ride a bike

Notes below

We have to be able to laugh at ourself every once in awhile.

We were teaching our youngest granddaughter how to ride her bike without training wheels. So I thought, I’m going to take a ride.

Let me just say,  It didn’t go well!

You know they say, Once you learn how to ride a bike, you can always ride a bike.

I disproved this theory this weekend.

I thought why is it so hard for me now. I used to ride all around my neighborhood when I was young.  I kept thinking…..

So I listed the reasons:

  1. I haven’t ridden in a long time.
  2. I stopped practicing.
  3. I forgot what my teacher told me about how to ride.

God drew me to thinking about my walk with Him

  1. If I don’t ask him to ride my life with me.
  2. If I stop practicing.
  3. If I forget what God’s words teaches me.

I will fail at my walk with Him like I failed at riding the bike.

That disproves the theory of once a Christian always a Christian.

So I’m going to remind you, like He reminded me….

  1. I need to ask Him to join me in my walk.
  2. I need to do what He calls me to do.  Practice the Spiritual Disciples.
  3. I need to always be a learner of His word.

Who/what is steering your walk?

By the way, my youngest granddaughter learned how to ride.

I pray that will continue to practice riding and walking with Jesus.
