I come to you today with a heavy heart and it brings me to Luke 23 when the bible talks about Jesus’s being accused of blasphemy by his own people.
Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate appealed to them again. But they kept shouting, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” as the scripture goes on in verses 33-34 and Jesus was sent to the cross, they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. 34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.
Even at his death he was asking God for their forgiveness. He loved them that much.
I am brought to this because of a situation that I am faced with. “How do you love when you aren’t loved back?”
But I am loved by the ONE who counts as it says in scripture………
Romans 5:8 – But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
1 John 4:16 – So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
I want to pray for you all and for myself that God will give us the love for others that Jesus had even in persecution.
