The Rainbow

Hebrews 10:23
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

Philippians 4:19
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Good morning,

What does you body physically do when you see a rainbow?
Yesterday afternoon/evening on my way home, it was a peaceful evening. The roads were wet, the air was dense and smelt clean. The trees around me were dark green and shining from the water that stood on their leaves. In the sky the clouds were heavy with a mix of whites and shades of grey. You’ve seen those days, after a good rain and everything felt fresh. So this day was no different than those.
As I’m driving I look over the thick brush of trees meeting the sky and there was a faint and partial rainbow shining through. I don’t know if you are like me or not but every time I see a rainbow, I have to take a picture. It’s not like it looks different then any other rainbow I have a picture of but it still is a picture that I need to capture.
It doesn’t matter where I am, I will put myself in the best vantage point to capture the best picture I can. Whether that i pulling over to the side of the road, sometimes turning the car around or I will physically move my body in a spot of the building, yard, parking lot, where ever so the visual of that particular rainbow is the best.
Have you ever noticed what your body physically does when you see a rainbow? What does it do?
Mine….
A smile erupts on my face.
My heart beats hard and fast.
My eyes are mesmerized.
My brain immediately recognizes joy.
My body quickly releases stress and feels peace.
Why is that?
Because I know what God promises and that rainbow is a symbol of that promises!
But one thought that came to mind yesterday as I see that one short sliver of a rainbow is that I don’t have to see the whole rainbow to know that the full one exists behind the clouds.
That thought then reminded me that I also don’t have to see the full promises that God gives me to know that there is a promise.

That is called faith! Faith in Him. Faith in His goodness. Faith in the unseen. Faith in His plan. Faith in eternity.

Whether I see the full rainbow or not, I know it was from Him!

Rhonda
