Don’t Burn Out

 Romans 12:11-13

Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.

This is not about physical “burn out”, it’s a spiritual “burn out”.  When we weary, we can be on fire for God. When we meet opposition, we can let out light shine.  So when we start to experience spiritual “burn out”, get on our knees and pray that much harder. We live in a world that will push back to see if we will withdraw.  But withdraw is not an option when we’re doing the Lord’s work.  Reach out and invite others in!  And count our blessings along the way.

Lord I come today ready!  Ready to share life with those around me.  Ready to invite them in so they will know You.  Ready to not quit and pray harder when the going gets tough.  But I also trust You to will show me when it’s time to rest.   Lord I pray for my family and friends.  I pray they will never quit in their work for You.  I pray they will show love to those around them and share how You have loved them.  Amen!
