Faithfulness

Psalm 26:3

for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.

Jeremiah 31:;14

I will satisfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be filled with my bounty,” declares the Lord.

One of my favorite things are birds.  Birds of almost any kind but particularly cardinals, yellow finch and hummingbirds.  I try to make sure that I don’t run out of their favorite food and when I do, I feel so bad.  I have at times even apologized to them for making them wait.  The fantastic thing about birds is as long as I keep the food coming they will continue to give me hours of enjoyment.  I have found that they start to depend on me to keep their feeders filled.  I wonder if they worry, “don’t she know this feeder is starting to run out?”.  But they will sit on their perch and eat until the last seed/last drop is gone, relying on me to be faithful and fill it back up.

Are we like the birds?  Do we depend on God’s faithfulness to sustain us and get us through the next day?  Do we rely on Him when the going gets tough?  And when we’re overflowing with abundance!  Do we show Him our appreciation for His faithfulness by sharing with others? I pray that the answer is “YES!”.  Because God is faithful!  We are His favorites.  He loves us regardless of what we look like on the outside.  He never makes us wait for what we need, for He alone knows what we need and the perfect time to give it to us.

Lord, I’m blessed by Your faithfulness.  I never have to worry about whether You will come through for me.  And I know that if I start running low, You alone will fill me up.  Lord I’m grateful! Please be with me family and friends Lord.  Continue showing them Your faithfulness so they will live in reliance on You.  I pray they will see the bounty that You have already given to them and they will share the truth of Your faithfulness with others.  Amen!
