I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.
The word “heavy” can come into play with a lot of situations. In some it’s used to describe the weight of something, such as the weight of a load of rocks or the weight of your new born child. And in some, it’s meaning the density of the thing, such as the thickness of the fog is so dense that you can’t see through it or the coffee was so strong that it was almost black. But HEAVY in the meaning of “life”, can be both a weight and density. These weights can be piled on us from actions of others but also from our own actions. They can be a physical or emotional weight. Guilt, shame, abuse, debt, overeating, sexual or any number of other things. And with the heaviness of these things our situation can become so dense that we literally can’t see a way out. But I’ve learned through the many things that has weighed down heavy on me and many times being so dense I couldn’t see a way out, that I can not lose heart! I couldn’t because I could look around and find a glimmer of light shining on the goodness of the Lord. He is without fail! He will show us how to release the weight and density of our burdens, freeing us to live joyously in our every situation, knowing that in the end, He will rein victorious.
Lord thank you! I’m grateful that You’ve given me a life full of loving people to walk through life with. Amen!
