God blessed me that day and is still blessing me with your memory. We didn’t have long but what we had was great. I wake this morning to a late night text from my North Carolina girl that says, ” Good night Lollie. Love you”. Even though it was this morning before I saw it, it did my heart good. And then I get a midday message from her of this video. I get messages from my Kentucky girl a lot. Now. I’ll get some from both. Grateful. Thankful Blessed!

#myblessing2022 Day 320: Went by Sam’s after work and my hubby texts me something to get. I said, “Gone” and then he calls me and asks, “Don’t you love me enough to turn around and go back?”. Immediately I said, NO! We laugh!!!! I am so blessed by this man. He aggravates me, calms me, ruffles me, encourages me, challenges me, protects me, calls me out and supports me but mostly, I’m blessed because he loves me! I love to see our first picture as a family and our last picture as a family. Who would have thunk it????

I’m grateful and blessed that I can now see that some of the hardships that God allowed me to go through strengthened the person that I am. Not thankful for the experience but thankful for the desire that he put inside of me to learn from the experience. Thank you Lord for holding me up, when the human in me wanted to crumble.

I was able to sit at my desk and listen to the chatter of my co-workers as they laughed and put up the Christmas tree for the season. #myblessing2022 Day 308: it has been a beautiful and peace -filled day. The time with family, time with self and time with hubby. As the wind blows, the remaining leaves off of the fall trees. My eye is caught by the colors of a few beauty still hanging on in my yard.

#myblessing2022 Day 301: It’s been a busy blessed day. Pine needles raked up and put around for needed winter protection. Thanks to my honey! Asparagus cut back and mulched. A little ride into town with my oldest grand and got a dairy Queen blizzard and a new plant at Lowe’s for my bathroom. The plant lady from work said this one was the best to get. Praying I can keep it alive. Fried fish for dinner! Looking forward to it!

#myblessing2022 Day 299: what a blessing it was to go to the circuit court in Winchester tonight in support of my friend Joyce Morton. She was representing the Black historical society and others in our community and requesting that the currently passed resolution be put on a plaque and attached to the courthouse next to the front doors. We are excited to say that it passed! And we look forward to making progress in Clark county/ Winchester, Kentucky.
#myblessing2022 Day 298: so many blessings today but two in particular stuck out to me. Grateful for my job! For many reasons but there was a couple of instances today where I could see why God has me there and to recognize that is a beautiful thing. And then also being able to spend the evening with a group of women who are really seeking God’s truth and how living in it can really make a difference in their lives is also a beautiful thing. So I am extremely grateful today!

Who has seen the good and the bad and still is celebrating my birthday with me. I received messages from many who have grown with me for almost half my lifetime and some longer! #myblessing2022 Day 294: Ride with Lollie and Pops today. Planned stops were yard art store and late lunch in Maysville. Got cut a little short due to starter issues on Tom’s bike. But He still blessed us, because we broke down at the yard art place and there was a gas station up the street. So we got the yard art we wanted, chicken tenders and potato wedges from the gas station and enjoyed it in nice rocking chairs in front of the yard art store in the shade as we awaited our son to come bring the trailer and pick us up. And then we topped it off with hot dogs on the grill. All in all a good day!!! Thank you to Allison’s ornamental concrete and gifts for allowing us to chill out for a bit.

#myblessing2022 Day 287: it was absolutely a beautiful day for a ride. First. I am grateful that the Lord blessed me with this Can-Am Spyder. Had a fun day with Weston for a. 5-hour ride with a couple of stops for a snack. He actually stayed awake for the whole thing this time. Haha! Love being able to share this blessing with my kiddos. And we came across a couple who had just gotten married. It was a gorgeous day at the Gorge for that!
#myblessing2022 Day 286: I can’t even remember the last time I was able to just lay on my porch and there was a nice breeze and it was sunny and I got to hear the chimes ringing around me. Closing my eyes, filling your presence and enjoying the peace that’s all around. Thank you for allowing me to leave the office a little early today.

I am reminded particularly today how important and beneficial it is to have a coach to walk through my next steps with. We shared praises and discussed what God is going to do with us and how we will serve our community. And then this afternoon I cut what will be my last flowers for 2022. All in all a very blessed day!
#myblessing2022 Day 279: This is not my phone. I put mine in the mailer pack before taking a picture of it! I’m grateful for insurance! After 30 years, I finally had to use mine! My electronic withdraws were hard to handle but I believe the God taught me that I’m too attached to them over this last couple of days. Even though they are a convenient and useful tool, when I felt panicked that I didn’t have it, I knew that was not a good sign. Thank you Lord for providing the tools but allowing me to learn a lesson through this.

I am grateful that the Lord gave me the bravery to want different and start moving towards it. From trying new, getting my Coaching Certification, writing a Book “The Journey”, to involving myself in the lives of new people, having hard conversations and growing new relationships. He is my strength that moves me forward differently.

#myblessing2022 Day 274: yesterday was a peaceful day. I got caught up in the quietness and forgot to do my post. Church, grocery shopping, laundry and a few other chores getting caught up from being gone a week. But my mind was quiet and still and for that I’m grateful.

#myblessing2022 Day 261: a nice peaceful day! Some tears in church this morning ( tears can be healing), a nap on the back porch which I never do and cut some flowers for what is most likely the last bouquet of the year. The boxes on the ceiling would have been my view if my eyes had been open.

My opportunity a few weeks back to go and debrief some of the flood victims in East Kentucky has given me another blessing. Tonight I spent some wonderful time worshiping the Lord and listening to a beautiful testimony at a church in London. My new found friend from a few weeks ago who herself and her family were part of the flood victims was the worship leader tonight . Loved seeing Justina Salyers and her worship band. We were also able to take some items that the folks in East Kentucky are needing. And loved having a nice drive, dinner and some truly holy Spirit filled time with Tina Overstreet . Thank you, Lord!
#myblessing2022 Day 229: grateful to have these two Christ-loving, people loving women with me to facilitate this upcoming class that starts tonight. I pray for those that the Lord has placed on their heart to come to this particular study. I pray that if God has put it on their heart that they will say yes to that. I pray for the three of us, that we will show the light of God and our words will be His words. Thank you Lord for helping us be brave and depending on your strength.

Female writers with spiritual, mission-filled focus meet in Winchester

Fulfilling as it is to write servant-centered literature, it might be easy to feel isolated in many towns.
However, in Winchester, a community of like-minded individuals is found.
Seven female authors, each focusing on Christian-based or self-help literature, meet for discussions and storytelling.
Rhonda Gould, the author of “The Journey: Finding Healing through Scripture from Life’s Hard Questions,” helps to lead the group.
“Most of us are working full-time and doing this on the side,” said Gould. “I’m sure we all have a different calling into that. Mine is through past hurts and pain, and just how processing it got me through it and where I am now. It was scripture doing that.”
Along with Gould, the six additional authors and one content writer meeting are Ronda Simmons (not pictured), Joy L. Joy Matthews , Sherry Hudson , Nicole Webb , Caron Massey , and Vache’ Vaché L King .
Their journeys vary, as some like Ronda Simmons – who has a background in journalism and communication – knew they had a knack for writing from a young age.
Others, such as Caron Massey, took a different route.
“Writing was never something I thought I’d be doing as I was never a great student in School [sic],” said Massey. “As a dyslexic, I struggled with self-esteem and confidence to just read. It wasn’t until I developed a prayer relationship with Jesus that I began to enjoy reading.”
As their journeys to becoming writers vary, so does their content.
While Nicole Webb, author of “Not Against My Son,” focuses her writing on her journey with her child, Joy L. Matthews concerns her tales based on experiences from a life in mission work.
“Our second book addresses the horrors of human trafficking by giving men help and hope to overcome pornography and sexual addictions. The second book addresses the demand side of human trafficking”, said Matthews.”The book began after a painful trip to Thailand and Cambodia, focusing on human trafficking in the region.”
Though the content may differ, the group shares several common aspects.
Each is interested in discussion of potential upcoming book ideas, as well as ways to offer support to communities that are suffering.
One possibility has been to reach out to The Ridge Behavioral Health System to provide support, mainly through devotionals, spiritual leadership content, and more.
Another thought has been to promote through a book study at the Winchester Public Library, though this will likely occur after school starts.
Regardless of the plan of action, it’s clear that the goals for meeting and writing continue.
“God placed the gift of telling a story in a way that was captivating to whomever I was speaking to,” said King. “When I understood it to be a gift, I have taken extra measures to cultivate the gift by writing out the story on paper.”

Have you ever told yourself that your words that you may say to someone about God doesn’t matter? I will tell you it does, this woman is proof of that. She took me as a new Christian, in my later teens, and mentored me and loved on me for over 8 years before I moved from that area. And if I called her today, she would still mentor me and love on me. Her words and her love for me made a huge difference in the service of the Lord. I encourage you if there is someone in your life that needs a mentor, be that person!

They came and joined me and we had a nice conversation about God and what he’s done and doing in our life. I’m grabbing a few more minutes of this serenity before I head out to go home. And have to be grateful for the tiny black rat snake I found on my porch, even those I don’t like snakes, this one will eat rodents that I dislike more. He’s back in the yard safe and sound. Would like to ask every one to pray for the families and others affected by the shooting in Texas today. And pray for this world to turn back to our God in Heaven.

#myblessing2022 Day 139: My blessings are always a mystery until they happen. Love seeing flowers, bloom out and never knowing what they’re going to look like. I love my peonies and I’m looking forward to the others blooming to see what color they’ll be. I don’t plan too well when it comes to my flowers. That way I’m always surprised! Thank you Lord for a life full of surprises!

#myblessing2022 Day 135: 3 bluebirds hatched today and all the black capped chickadees hatched. All of our other boxes have babies in them already. I can hear them but I can’t disturb the nests enough to see them.

Sometime with the two littles. Letting Weston do a bit more driving up the 4×4. Then a bit of yard work and laying around. Makes for a good day!

#myblessing2022 Day 132: so many blessings! I was greeted by a ground squirrel first thing this morning at work. My honey sent me a picture when he finished up my new coffee table. I bought an old ammo box and had our friend, Kevin Combs , put a lid on it and then Tom sealed the top and put the wheels on it for me. Then he also finished putting up the new post for the bottle tree and putting the bottles on it thank you for the post Kevin. And then my lilies decided to bloom out All at one time! Aren’t they lovely? What a day!

But I was thanking the Lord all the way in town because someone turned them in. And extra big smiles because my clematis is blooming and I’m fixing to have my first of many peonies bloom out. I just love my flowers!

First I got to spend the whole day with my honey and we spend a few hours on the road and had lunch at a cute little hippie place close to the gorge. And then I got some shots of a pair of bluebirds who were scouting out and preparing to build a nest in one of our bluebird boxes. I’m so excited! Love me some bluebirds! And I’m just probably about 1/3 of the way through and it will definitely be one that I have to read or listen to more than once.

#myblessing2022 Day 82: The SON was showing me HIS glory! I was reading a psalm the other day and really leaned into the word “refuge” and particularly finding refuge in the Lord. Did you know that there are 25 verses in the NIV Psalms (Psalms “refuge”) that talk about finding refuge in the Lord? I find peace that even David in his most chaotic life was able to find refuge in the Lord. This brings peace to my soul because the Lord of David is the same Lord I have. I will and can find refuge in Him.

#myblessing2022 Day 77: Listening to the audio book, “Oneness Embraced” by Tony Evans and chapter 14 is extremely interesting and insightful. This chapter is about Biblical Justice vs Social Justice. Really Good! Talks about combining our individualized congregations, bringing together the social with the spiritual. You can’t get social justice without the spiritual justice. It is needed for the church to practice biblical justice.
#myblessing2022 Day 76: When your granddaughter looks you straight in the face and as serious as can be and say, “You look beautiful!”, your heart is humbled, and your soul rejoices at the sweetness. And it makes me think of Matthew 18:1-4, Oh, if I had the heart of a child and could show the Lord’s love towards others like my granddaughter showed me. In Matthew it says, At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven?” He called a little child to him and placed the child among them. And He said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.”

I then get out my bible and these are the words He brings to me. Proverbs 31:20, She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 1 John 3:18, Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. And then Jesus says in, Luke 11:13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Let me do Your will Lord and let me see all that You give me. Jacob. He will teach us his ways so that we may walk in his paths. The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many people. They will beat their swords into the plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation nor will they train for war anymore. Come descendants of Jacob, let us Walk in the light of the Lord.

#myblessing2022 Day 61: Picked up a book at Half Price Bookstore on Monday and started it today while sitting in the warmth of the sun. Anyone that knows me, knows I’m a 100% fan of the book “Boundaries” so when I saw this, I had to have it. I highly suggest it but read it with the intent to do some self-reflecting along with evaluations of your relationships. When we recognize our own sin, God expects us to start the change process and it’s hard. Hurt people, hurt people. Lord, help me see the sin in my own life and give me the courage to do the hard. Amen
#myblessing2022 Day 60: 2.5 hours, 3 rides, same starting point and three different directions. They all got a ride with this one being Railey’s first real ride. Just get enough to give us a taste of what’s coming in the next couple months.

For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord. But those who fail to find me harm themselves; all who hate me love death.

Stand out was verse 16, “He is wooing you from the jaws of distress to a spacious place, free from restrictions, to the comfort of your table laden with choice food”. Where are you sending me Lord? #myblessing2022 Day 44: Grateful when God brings clarification to me, as I wake, about His relationship with me and how I am supposed to mimic that type of relationship with others. The know in the video is a reminder that even though it may be hard to see, He is cleansing us. Also heard this song in church today that really spoke to me Firm Foundation (He Won’t) Additional thoughts below. I’ve been on a journey the last several years about relationships. That journey has been difficult, but parts have been joyous. The difficult parts have been eye-opening and made me consider, even more that I have in the past, who I need to be in relationship with. I’m going to start with the #1 scripture that talks about how much God loves us and what He was willing to do for us. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”. I am human, with human emotions, so always judging my thoughts or emotions on myself is not the best place to go. So, as I have more understanding of God and who He is and how He loves, I’m finding that He alone should be my place to go. With that I’m going to look at His attributes first. Although, these attributes are only possible by God, but there are many that we can at least attempt to internalize the example He sets for us. Seeking to find understanding to His attributes will give us a stronger understanding of who He is, how He functions in this world and in our lives and with us individually. There are many sites where you can go and get the lists of God’s attributes but for now, I’m going to focus on just a couple. Love – mentioned approx. 551 times in the New Testament Grace & Mercy – mentioned over 170 times in the New Testament, Grace is what God gives us what we don’t deserve and Mercy is not giving us what we do deserve. I wonder sometimes if I give my love, grace and mercy as graciously to others as God has given to me. And since I’m not God and never will be able to completely example Him, what happens when I fail? Because I will. I believe all that God wants from us is to give it our best efforts and come to Him for guidance when we are unsure of what to do or when we fail. And because of the belief that He wants us to come to him when I fail, do I extend that same measure of love, grace and mercy to others? I also wonder what He would have me do when I don’t receive that same measure of love, grace and mercy from others. How am I to respond? Let’s see how scriptures says it. Luke 6:27-36 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. 2 Timothy 2:23-26 Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. Romans 12:9-21 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. #myblessing2022 Day 43: Grateful that I have a Father that I can go to with every thought. When I ask for him to remind me what His plans for me are, and the phone dings with a notification. His reminder I received was “In their hearts humans plan their course but the Lord establishes their steps. Prov 16:9 Lord, I will walk when you give me the direction. Amen!
#myblessing2022 Day 42: Lovely lunch with a friend and God used her to give me some encouraging words. Also, God spoke to me and Grateful for HIS word and direction! When I open my bible to Proverbs and while holding the pages in my hands, I close my eyes and pray, “Lord, tell me if I should talk or be silent”. Still sitting there with my eyes closed, I flipped through the pages, my hands stopped, and I run my finger on the page until it became still. I look at the passage that I’m at and it says, “Those who guard their mouths, and their tongues keep themselves from calamity. The proud and arrogant person “Mocker” is his name – behaves with insolent fury”, Prov 21:23-24. Lord show me where my pride is getting in the way of being able to serve you well. Amen

#myblessing2022 Day 38: My reading today brought me to Mark 12 in the Parable of the Tenants. I don’t know that I’ve ever really heard this story. Through reading it, I was drawn to dig a bit deeper for understanding and it brought me to another scripture, Proverbs 15:31-33, Whoever heeds life-giving correction will be at home among the wise. Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding. Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the LORD, and humility comes before honor.
#myblessing2022 Day 37: Heard this new song in church today. Lord, I am so grateful for you. You are my friend. A friend that will never withdrawal from me. A friend that even when I fail, and I will, will love me. A friend that cares more about my heart and soul then your own, as exampled with Jesus. A friend that shows more love, grace, and mercy, then I deserve. A friend that is gentle with me in times of correction. I pray Lord that you will make me that type of friend. The friend example that you have given to me. Amen

#myblessing2022 Day 33: Took some time today to give a little of what I have. I love being able to do this. The lady that did all my prep information ask me how long I had been given blood and I believe the first time I ever gave blood was in 1980 at a blood drive at my first job. I may not be able to do a lot but I can do something.

My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my might rock, my refuge. One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard. Power belongs to you, God, and with you, Lord, is unfailing love and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.” Ps 71:3; 8; 14; 20; 23 Be my rock of refuge to which I can always come. My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long. As for me, I will always have hope; I will always praise you more and more. Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you- I whom you have delivered.
#myblessing2022 Day 28: In my prayer time this morning, I was pouring out gratitude for the hard times God has walked me through and helped me learn through. Asking that HE help me help others with those experiences. Then I open my You Version email with today’s scripture in it and this is how God answered me. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Luke 6:45 NIV The snow and birds gave me peace this morning.

Ending are hard but necessary, as the book title states. I’ve been through some endings lately and as bad as they hurt, I’m seeing they were necessary to fulfill God’s plan in my life. My beginnings here on this earth seem wonderful but my endings in Heaven will be greater!
