Rewards

 2 Chronicles 15:7

“But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”

As you can tell by the image attached, my husband works hard for our garden to produce food for us.  I say “our” very loosely because it’s really “his” but he shares the rewards with me.  He will work tirelessly, tiling the dirt, hoeing the weeds, planting the seeds, stalking the plants, picking the crops and it doesn’t stop there cause then you have to do something with it to prepare it for consumption.  When I say tirelessly, I do mean tirelessly and that is just not my thing.  Believe me, he would like it to be but it’s not.  But I sure do enjoy the rewards.  The Lord gave him that drive to work so hard for his family and I’m grateful.  And my tummy is too! So is this scripture talking about tending a garden?  There was a man in the bible named Asa, he and his people came up against many obstacles but he continued to lead his people to God and trust in His provisions and protection.  Well, we are to do the same thing.  This could be in any area of our life as long as we are seeking the Lord, we are to be strong and not let our hands be weak, for our work shall be rewarded.  In our service, school, job, homes, marriages, relationships and play, if we are seeking the Lord, He will reward us.  So not matter what the struggle. No matter what the challenge.  No matter what the opposition.  The Lord says to be strong and do not let your hands be weak and He will reward you.  But we must remember, sometimes that requires some patience and sometimes our rewards come to us in heaven but ALWAYS the rewards will come.

Lord, here I am being patient.  I thank You for giving me many rewards throughout my life and I await patiently for the rest, for I know they will come.  Lord, I pray that You will give me the strength and endurance to run the race and hang in for the long haul.  I so want to do what You have paved the way for me.  I pray that I will listen to You when You call and I will come running.  Lord I pray for my family and friends.  I know Lord that some have reaped many rewards and some are still waiting.  I pray that none will grow weary of working for You.  I pray that they will know that as long as they are seeking You and trusting in Your greatness, they will see many rewards ahead of them.  I thank You in advance.  Amen!
