Super Hero

Acts 20:28

“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.”

Do you believe this scripture?  God choose to entrust you, us, to show others what He can do through those who are broken.  Yes, we are broken!  There is not one human on this planet that is not flawed in some way.  The Lord made us perfect but we mess that up.  Yet!  He still uses us.

If you had to choose a “super hero”, which would it be?  The most recognized are Batman, Superman and Wonder woman.  I have to say that I have lived some days when I thought I was Wonder Woman.  Either because my ego got carried away or I was careless and over committed to the point that my wonder woman powers better kick in.   But regardless of how much we love our super heros or what type of outfit we put on, we do not have miraculous powers.

As it says in Acts 20:28, “the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood”.   God created us, His Son was born to a virgin, who then died on the cross for us and the Holy Spirit now dwells within us and He will give us what we need to be overseers.  We may not be a “Super Hero” but we can be “a Shepherd” in His flock and help guide others to God with the only “super hero” there is and that’s Christ.

I heard someone say that the only thing that is holding us back is:

1. we think that the other are “super heros”
2. we think we’re the “super hero”

Once we know that Christ is the only “Super Hero”, he will use us!

Lord, I want to be used.  I so understand that I am not a super hero.  I have proven that time and time again.  I am grateful Lord that You are working in my life so that I am able to do Your work.  I trust You Lord when You say that “I can do all things through Christ the Lord who strengthens me”.   Lord I pray for my family and friends.  I pray they will stop trying to be a super hero in their lives and they will seek You out for their strength and not let their weaknesses hold them back from doing Your work.  I pray Lord that we all will live a life of the “overseer”.   You are my one and only “SUPER HERO”. Amen!
