New Beginning

Genesis 9:16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

Ezekiel 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell face down, and I heard the voice of one speaking.

Revelations 4:3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne.

From the beginning of time the rainbow has been referenced in the bible.  The first time it was referenced in Genesis, it was at the end of the flood that destroyed all living things except for those in the ark.  The Lord used it as a visual to show the covenant between Him and all the living things.  To promise of a new day with Him.  Then in Ezekiel it is used to understand the beauty that surrounds the Lord and again in Revelations.  All are used to get the attention of those who saw it.

I get so excited every time I’m privileged enough to get to see one.  I don’t know what it is but it seems to remind me that HE is here!  That He promises me a new and better day.  Someone who can make something so beautiful come to life, usually after a storm, can also make something beautiful out of my storms.

So I encourage you to remember.  Remember the storms that He has weathered with you and the rainbows that He has and will continue to give you at the end of them.

We must always cherish the visual of a RAINBOW!

Lord, I thank You.  I thank You for the visual reminders.  I thank You for the love that has been put into creating it for me.  Lord I pray that I will keep the sight of Your gifts in front of me and will never fear when I have to weather a storm, knowing what a beautiful sight will come afterwards.  Lord I pray for my family and friends.  I pray that they will stop and see the rainbows in their lives.  Amen!
