Tribes

Psalm 122:1-9

I rejoiced with those who said to me,  “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”  Our feet  are standing in your gates, Jerusalem.   Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together.   That is where the tribes go up— the tribes of the Lord— to praise the name of the Lord according to the statute given to Israel.  There stand the thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:  “May those who love you be secure.  May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.”  For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.”  For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your prosperity.

Do we pray this prayer for our families, our tribes?   That we are closely compacted together, praising the name of the Lord.  The world works hard to draw our families away.  Pull them into their ways, with distractions and internal desires.  For me it’s ever on my mind!   I have seen the world work and it’s ugly.  Satan grabbing his claws, scratching and injuring the outer layers of our souls.  He is real!  And the only way for us to fight him is by drawing near to the Lord and holding on tight.  For my family, I pray for peace within our walls and security in knowing that the Lord is here with us.

Lord I come to You today heavy!  Praying for peace within our walls and our souls.  Praying that we will not linger in the world and let it take hold of us.  Praying that we will release our internal desires that the world tells us is “OK” and allowing only Your desires, fill us.  Lord I pray for my family and friends.   There are heavy hearts and I pray for them, “”May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels”” and may you allow the Lord, Jesus and the Holy Spirit fill you will peace.  Amen!
