Joshua 24:15
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.
Every time my girls come to see their Lollie & Pops, they love to look at and touch every picture on my refrigerator. The other evening, Darci came over for a quick visit and she, as normal, stopped at the fridge and run her hand across the pictures. I asked her, “Who are those people?”. And she replied,
“Family!”
Be still my heart! In our busy lives do we really take time to capture the moments with a picture much less with our “attention”? Family is the most treasured here on earth for me and I want nothing more than spending eternity with them in heaven. Many times I remember that I could have and should have done more to share Christ with my own children. Do more than just introduce Him to them, but show them how to bring Him into their hearts so their relationship would grow as they grew. It’s not enough to “just go to a church building”, we have to live the example. But I did the best I knew at the time! It’s up to Jesus and them now to finish their journey. And we must remember that there are those outside our circle that do not have earthly families that they are a part of but we can bring them into our homes and give them someone to call “family”. So cherish your families, your friends and those around you because the desired result is eternity in heaven together.
Lord, I have so thankful that it’s not all up to me. That the eternal outcome of my family and friends is not solely dependent on my knowledge and actions. I’m so grateful! Lord thank You for being patient with me and helping me grow in You and guiding me in my journey of bringing others with me. Lord be with my family and friends. I pray that they will have the greatest desire to be in heaven for eternity with You. Amen!
