Past

Isaiah 42:9

Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.”

We all have one!  A past!  Regardless of what it looks like, it needs to stay there….. in the past!  See what we  have learned from it, grow, change, share but never pick it back up again.

God has promised that He will make things new and that is what we need to grab hold of and never let go. Use our pasts but not let them define us!  The Lord always has something to teach. He will always use the bad for good. And He will never use it against us.

So focus on what is in front and not on what is behind!

Lord, my past is ugly and I’m so grateful that You already know that and love me anyway.  I pray Lord that with each passing experience, I will learn something and use it to bring glory to You.  I pray that I will keep my eyes on the future and the great things that You have planned out for me.  I pray that I will continue to trust and not dwell.  Lord please be with my family and friends.  Help them to understand that the past is exactly what it says, THE PAST! I pray that they will cling to Your promises of a new life each day.  Amen!
