Vantage Point

Psalm 146:8
The LORD gives sight to the blind.

Luke 16:15
[Jesus] said to [the Pharisees], ‘You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts. What is highly valued among men is detestable in God’s sight.’

Ephesians 1:4
[God] chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.

Yesterday morning I stepped into the auditorium at church through a door that I don’t usually enter from.  As I stood there I looked at the stage and asked “did they get new carpet?”  The answer was “NO”!  I guess from that spot in the room the stage looked different.  My vantage point at that moment changed my view.

And that made me think!  Wouldn’t it be something to have the vantage point of God.  To be able to view our surroundings, our circumstances, our relationships, our acquaintances, and even our sin through a different understanding.  A God’s Eye View!  I bet we’d be more thankful, more peaceful,  more trusting,  more forgiving, more grace filled, more loving and more accepting of His mercy.

Lord, I want to see the world through Your eyes. Help me to love as You love.  Lord be with my family and friends.  I pray that they will start to see their value from Your vantage point.  Amen!
