Promise of Renewal

Ezek 36:26

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

This is a promise from God.  He promises to give us a new heart, to put in a new spirit.  Sin, whether it’s ours or those around us can callus our hearts.  It’s been roughed up by our circumstances and bruised too many times to count.  It becomes hard towards others for fear of being hurt and suffocated. Those are all consequences of sin!  But we can rejoice because the Lord of yesterday and years gone by is the same Lord of today.   He will renew our heart, removing the battered spirit and placing a new one within us.  The Holy Spirit will dwell within to soften our hearts, learning to love, to feel, to praise and hear Him calling us.  Gently saying “I love you most!”.

Lord, You speak to me many ways. And I’m grateful!  I’m grateful that You came through on Your promises to renew me.  Redeem me from my past and give me a spirit, the Holy Spirit, within me, so that I could love again. Softening my heart so that I could feel.  Thank You!  Lord, please be with my family and friends.  Smooth out the rough spots in their hearts and allow them to feel Your change within.  Amen!
