Voluntary or Involuntary…Which is it?

John 19:30

When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
As I turned on my computer this morning and opened up one of the most popular social media pages, I see where a family has tragically lost their 19 year old child to an auto accident last night.  This is the 2nd loss of this type that has happened this close to home for me in a couple months, where parents have lost their child suddenly, without notice.   Many people each day loose people they love by death, whether illness or accident, and it is painful.  Lingering pain, where that space they filled, may never be filled completely again.   No one would choose to voluntarily give up their child or family member/friend to die.  To have that space in their heart empty.

Or would they?  God did!

I can’t even imagine voluntarily giving up my son for anyone much less the likes of “me”!

So I urge you all to remember…………. “God loved us, me and you, enough to voluntarily let his child suffer and die for us so that we would be saved and be with Him for ever”!

Remember that we are not promised tomorrow, not even the next minute, so love your children, your family, your friends, strangers, your enemies like He does.  Don’t waste another minute because whether voluntarily or involuntarily the time will come.

Jesus knew what he was doing and why.  He knew that he had to go through that horrific pain for me.  So as they say “The proof is in the puddin’!”.  I think I can say without doubt that He loves me.

Lord, Thank You!  May I love my children, family, friends, strangers and enemies well. Amen!
