Strength in Cords

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.  If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone?  A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

People…………… We all have them!  And unless we are hermits, we have lots of people in our lives.   I have found that there are many that add to my day and there are some that drain me.  Just being honest.  It may be circumstances or it my be personality, yet still draining.  I just loving being with those that add to my life.  They lift me up, make me laugh, help me forget my heart aches and give me hope.  And I just love those that drain me too! God has given me a heart for them also.  He has shown me the perfect example of how it is to love, stand by, hold up and support in hard times.

So like the spider web, standing alone, one of the strands would not withstand even the smallest of breeze but together it’s amazing what they withstand.  The same goes for people.  Friends! What kind of friend am I?  What kind of wife am I?  What kind of mother am I? I ask myself that a lot!  It matters to me because it matters to God.  Are we willing to intertwine ourselves into others lives enough so that we are able to help them in times of need and rejoice with them in times of happiness?

Ask yourself?

Lord, help me take a good long look at myself.  Thank You Lord for making me willing.  Thank You Lord for giving me the perfect example of who I need to strive to be like.  Please be with my family and friends Lord.  I pray that they reach out to You for their daily example.  Amen!
