Prayer for Families

I don’t know about you but my family is my most precious commodity. I do not take the blessing that God has given me through them lightly.

I trust that those that are reading this also feel the same. This world is in a state of sadness because we have allowed God to be stripped away from our lives.

No one is immune from the grips that Satan will try to put on us

In my job, I witness daily how the sins of the father (generally speaking it’s not always the father as we define the word) can and will carry down into the next generation and beyond. I have felt and been witness to how those generational curses can destroy. My heart breaks for the sinner but oh the breaking is worse for the receiver of the consequences for those sins. This world is in pain because of SIN not man.
I know these scriptures below speak of all sin. And that sin varies, as varied as the sinner himself. It’s not the particular sin that we are breaking for it’s the created child of God. Please pray with me for the many families out there who are affected by this “generational sin”.
Lord, I come to You, praising Your name because I have seen the miracles that You can and will do. I have faith that Your love will carry us. I ask You Lord to wrap your loving and forgiving arms around the sinner themselves. I ask that you will help them feel your love and that they will grasp the strength that you provide so they can be brave and courageous and break the chains of their sin. I pray that they will receive your forgiveness and move towards breaking the cycle of that sin. Not choosing to allow it to carry on to the next generations to come. Lord, I ask that you will be gentle and loving with those who are feeling the pain and consequences of the sin. Let them look to You for comfort and rely on You to carry them through, healing their minds, souls and bodies. I pray that they will seek Your love so they will be able to forgive as you forgive. Amen.
Deuteronomy 24:16 “Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin.
Exodus 34:7 Keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
