Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
Jeremiah 29:11 has been a staple in my list of scripture that gave me hope through some pretty dark seasons of my life. I haven’t always made decisions or reacted to situations like I trusted that God had a plan though. I’m gradually getting to a place where I’m resting more in HIS plan and not mine.
I said this was a Prayer and Confession newsletter. So I needed to start off with the raw honest truth.
I’ve had a lot of change and upheaval in my life over the last five years personally. And then you throw Covid into the middle of it and the dependence on Jeremiah 29:11became stronger than ever.
That is where Ecclesiastes 3:1 starts to sink in and I could rest in knowing that for everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. That pain, sorrow and dry spell would not last for ever. Change would be coming, I could count on that!
Just this year, I have found myself in a new season. A season of a new career for both me and my husband. I’ve completed and published a book/workbook. I’m finding myself moving away from people, activities and commitments that have been part of my life for years and opening up doors to new challenges and people. God has me in a new season. I wonder what HIS plan is for me here.
With the changing of the season, from summer to fall to winter, I can count on there being a spring ahead. I can count on that just as I can count on my Father’s plans for welfare and not for evil, to give me a future and a hope.
That is where prayer comes in. I’m starting a new project. One that is going to take not only my physical time but also my spiritual time. One that I pray that will be a season of growth and awakening for me. I have also partnered with a group of other authors and we’re exploring how God can use our love for Him and our love for writing to help serve our community.
I’m asking that you will pray for me during this season. And as you pray for me, I will commit to praying for you. You’re season may not look like mine but I’m sure that you are going through one.
