Proverbs 15:21 Folly is joy to him who is destitute of discernment, but a man of understanding walks uprightly.
Understanding the love that our Lord has for us, all that He has sacrificed for our salvation, what He is willing to give us if we will remain faithful to Him, how He designed us to live, the walk that He teaches us in His word and the definition of forgiveness we are to give, these are the things that we can walk uprightly about. Do I have joy in my folly……some of the time but is it spiritually beneficial to my being? Never! To have discernment that means I actually have to stop and listen and seek out His teachings before I put my mind or body into action. I know that I don’t always practice discernment because my human desire get in the way but I want to. I have learned many lessons from my folly over the years and decided that it makes for a more peace filled life if I’ll simply “stop” and “listen” to Him! I don’t understand all that He has to teach me and probably never will until I am with Him but through the process I can walk uprightly in my trying!
Dear Lord, I am amazed at the beauty that You have created for me. I pull such joy from watching nature transform daily by Your hand. I pray Lord that I will be still today and hear Your voice telling me what I need to hear. I cherish the lessons that You teach me because I know they are leading me to a life of transformation. I love You for loving me! Lord, please be with my family and friends. I pray that they too will STOP and listen today. I pray that their folly will not cause long term pain for them as they travel through life figuring out how to lean more on you. Amen!
