Philippians 3:13

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

Over the last 4 months, I’ve been taking a journey with some ladies through learning to have boundaries (ref: “Boundaries” by Townsend & Cloud).   Most people think of having boundaries and the need to learn for the soul purpose of making everyone around us accept our boundaries, but what most people don’t understand is that learning to have boundaries is more about the change in ourselves than it is in others.

I’ve had to learn this the hard way and been learning over the last 10+ years!  Now don’t get me wrong, learning to have boundaries will also effect and possibly change other people, some in a positive way and some will take offense but it is so worth it.  I am so much better than I used to be in the so many areas and I’m still learning in others and probably will be my whole life.   I have failed at my attempts at times but have learned that……

“if I don’t ever fail then I won’t ever learn”.

If you haven’t ever read the book, I would suggest you do.  It was very eye opening to me!

The Lord doesn’t want us to live within the confounds of our old belief systems, he will show us a brave new world out there just waiting for us.  He will give us that freedom to live without guilt, resentment, being controlling or being controlled and He wants us to give from a place deep in our hearts, full of love and acceptance of others.  Only looking to Him for filling and accepting His grace when we fail.

Please, hear me when I say, “If you are living in potentially a physically dangerous place, please reach out to someone and remove yourself from it.

So ask the Lord to give you the strength to take the step needed to make huge change in your life.  You will be blessed by it and so will others around  you.

Lord, thank you for giving me the insight to start.  Thank you for placing people in my life that helped me, holding me accountable and loving me through the process.  Lord I pray that I will be able to step into that place with others and help them to seek You more and learn to love freely.  Thank you for loving me!  Amen!
